Theatre Workshop
- Actor’s Log Book Reflection
Well done for an excellent focused start to the year, the
real work starts here, you need to have completed the following for Tuesday of week 3:
- · Read Cherry Orchard and written about your initial impression of the text – be honest in your thoughts
- · Read bits of Konstantin Stanislavsky by Bella Merlin
- · Have purchased a book you can use as your Actor’s Log or set up a Blog?
It is imperative that this is done in order for you to make the best
progress next week in terms of deepening your understanding of the text and
practitioner. I will also go through the purpose of the Actor’s Log next week
in more detail; however I would like you to get started on keeping this up to
date by reflecting on the last three days. Some things you might want to
reflect on:
- · What have you learnt about yourself as a deviser over the last sessions?
- · Using the theme explored in our short piece. How and why were they relevant to The Cherry Orchard?
- · Did you learn anything new about the text through the practical exploration of the themes?
- · Evaluate our piece – what was successful and why? What was unsuccessful? How could we have developed this further? How did the audience react?
- · Evaluate one other tutor group’s performance – what did their work say? How did you know this? Was it successful/unsuccessful, why?
The above list is a suggestion of reflections for you. You might
decide that you want to write about something else too.
